Gretha Kostwinder

Gretha KostwinderGretha Kostwinder has been involved since 2004 in HIV/Aids in agriculture. During her posting as agricultural counsellor at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Pretoria from 2001-2006, she was confronted with the problem of HIV/Aids in agriculture. As a result of this she founded, together with Marianne van der Laarse, the NGO AgriAids.

She decided to finalise her diplomatic career at the end of 2006. This facilitated her ability to work full time in organising HIV/Aids programmes for the agricultural sector, specifically for farm workers and their families, currently as Director. Gretha has a LLM degree and started her career as chief of the Juvenile and Vice Police in the Netherlands. After that she became the director of the General Inspection Service of the Ministry of Agriculture in the Netherlands.She joined the diplomatic service of this Ministry in 1996 with postings in Paris, France and New Delhi in India.
